The Athena Society Journal was launched on International Women’s Day 8th March 2024 with students age 11-18 writing up their own research and new perspectives on old stories.

Issue #1 Spring 2024 contains 26 articles tackling topics as varied as Greek mythology and Renaissance art, to the French Revolution and Cold War with a global span including Germany, Vietnam and Argentina too.

Issue #2 Spring 2025 contains 34 articles from Ancient Greece and Persia to Tang dynasty China, the Crusades, Renaissance Italy, Revolutionary America, Victorian England, 19th century Germany, the Partition of India, the 1970s dictatorship in Argentina and even a recent protest in Bangladesh – to name just a few!

Issue #3 Spring 2026 contains even more articles, with 48 entries from students writing about a huge range of time periods from Greek myths and Egyptian pharaohs to Early Modern witches, preachers and pirates as well as 19th century revolutionaries and interwar jazz singers and movie stars. There’s a special focus on women in STEM fields to highlight the major discoveries made - from astronomy to space travel, genetics to medicine, bullet-proof materials to Bluetooth! The articles also have a global perspective including stories from Egypt, India, Brazil, Colombia, China, Japan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ireland and the United States.
